Astros Pitcher Surprises Family With a Game of Catch

Houston Astros pitcher Ryan Pressly proved again that all Major League Baseball players are humans first. They all, at once, had the same dream that every child has had. 

That came to light as Blake Foley, an 11-year-old Houston boy, was seen playing catch in his front yard. Pressly gave him the opportunity of a lifetime and pulled over to play catch with the young man.

Pressly stepped out of his car and asked Blake's mother, Hope, if he could use her glove and play catch with her son.

The two have interacted before due to Pressly living in the area. However, they never did anything close to this. 

It is not every day that you see a big leaguer pull over on the side of the road and make a kid's day. Pressly not only made young Blake's day but gave him a day that he will remember forever.

The two also played a game of whiffle ball after they finished having a catch. Hope says that she wants the whole city to know how amazing Pressly is as a person, saying the following, according to Adam Winkler of ABC13:

"The whole city should know how amazing Ryan Pressly is and what he did to spend time with a huge Astros fan," Hope shared.

Pressly and the Astros have an important season coming up. The team recently added Josh Hader, indicating the Pressly will have a different role in the bullpen. 

Houston has a chance to have one of the best bullpens in baseball and Pressly's a major part of that. He posted a 0.00 ERA in the 2023 postseason and will look to carry that over after having a 3.58 regular season ERA, the highest of his career with the Astros.
