Valdimir Guerreo Jr. ripped a ball up the middle with an exit velocity of 103.8 and looked and everyone in the stands assumed it would be a base hit However, Andres Gimenez had other plans. He gloved the ball and flipped it behind his back to Gabriel Arias without looking, who stepped on second for the out.

The only way to describe this play is pure magic.

This play was just one of a number of Gimenez's web gem plays as the Cleveland Guardians took on the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend.

Gimenez stole another hit from Vladdy in the series finale as he laid out in short right field and quickly got up to throw him out at first. This ball was essentially in the gap, but Gimenez extended, fielded the ball, and throughout the runner at first.

This next play may not be as jaw-dropping as the previous, however, Gimenez's footwork here is beautiful. The ball takes a late bounce, but the second baseman stays with the plate in order to throw out Daulton Varsho.

Having a defensive infielder as good as Gimenez is a huge bonus for any team. His defense was good enough to win a Gold Glove in 2022 and Andres is on the way to another one in 2023 too.
