Let's check in with Raise Cain, who finished 8th in last year’s Kentucky Derby.

Raise Cain, a son of Violence, made his first start of 2024 in the Grade 3 Commonwealth Stakes on April 6 at Keeneland, where he ran into traffic trouble and finished fifth.

We caught up with trainer Ben Colebrook after the race to see what the horse has been up to since his time in the spotlight, his plans for 2024, and what having a Kentucky Derby starter has meant for the trainer.

"He's actually gotten a lot stronger," Colebrook said after the Commonwealth. "Last year, he was a little more feminine horse, not a big, heavy horse. He's filled out, looks like a much stronger 4-year-old this year, so hopefully we can build off this race."
