'That was a scary time,' Tiger Woods reveals HEARTFELT reasons behind selecting Gary Woodland for a sponsor’s exemption

Woods empathized with the challenges the 2019 U.S Open winner faced and the constant fear of death that loomed over him. As someone who has experienced his fair share of pain and fear due to a devastating health scare, Woods could relate all too well. The golf great himself was involved in a huge car crash in 2021 that could have been fatal.

The incident resulted in extensive surgery on his right leg, and its impact continues to be felt on a daily basis. The struggle of fellow PGA Tour pro Woodland, who battelled through a brain tumor, deeply affected Woods. Thus after being paired together along with Justin Thomas, Woods claimed he was going to have a good time.

To be able to play with two great friends tomorrow, we’re going to have a great time… The fact that we’re able to do it, the fact that he’s here and able give us the needling is fantastic because that was a scary time when we didn’t know what it was going to look like.

In January, Woodland talking with the Associated Press said that his main goal was to prove his capability in accomplishing difficult tasks. He wanted to show his children that no one had the authority to dictate their potential and that they possessed the power to conquer challenging and intimidating situations in life.

Tiger Woods extends a warm welcome to the Saudis who wish to support the PGA Tour

After the stunning reversal on LIV Golf by Rory McIlroy recently, golf great Tiger Woods seems to be joining in. During the presser at the Genesis Invitational, Woods extended a warm welcome to the Saudis for their investment on the PGA Tour.

Woods is hopeful that they can enhance their product in both the short and long term. The man with the new logo this week discussed each of those roles while addressing the press before the Genesis Invitational on Wednesday.

Speaking on his topic, the veteran golfer claimed he would like to have them on the tour but they don’t exactly need them at the moment.

The framework agreement between PGA Tour and PIF was was initially established in June last year during private meetings between Commissioner Jay Monahan and some selected members, including PIF governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan. The deadline to reach this agreement has also been extended recently. It now remains to be see what changes will this deal with the Saudis actually bring to the sport of golf going forward.
