Louis Oosthuizen withdraws from Masters with injury

Regardless of his final score, golf legend Tiger Woods has already completed a remarkable comeback by playing in this year's Masters tournament just 14 months removed from his horrific car accident. Woods began Thursday morning in a group that included Joaquin Niemann and Louis Oosthuizen, but that threesome lost a member ahead of Friday's second-round tee-off times.

According to Mark Schlabach of ESPN, Oosthuizen withdrew from the Masters on Friday with an undisclosed injury. The 39-year-old out of South Africa shot 4-over 76 in the tournament's first round, and the Golf Channel website notes that Oosthuizen "grabbed at his back on the second hole in the opening round" and "was seen reaching for the area" throughout Thursday.

However, Golf Channel's Rex Hoggard reports Oosthuizen is dealing with a neck injury. Per Elliott Heath of Golf Monthly, Oosthuizen withdrew from the RSM Classic in November because of a back-related issue.

Oosthuizen has never won a green jacket but was a Masters runner-up when he suffered a playoff loss to Bubba Watson in 2012.

On Thursday, England's Paul Casey withdrew from the Masters with an undisclosed injury. It was later reported that Casey struggled with back spasms earlier in the week.
