Golf best bets: 3 props for The Genesis Invitational

The West Coast Swing on the PGA Tour comes to a close this week with The Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club. We already went over our favorite outright bets and some long shots we're targeting for the signature event, so now it's time to shift our focus to prop bets.

Tiger Woods to make the cut (-110 DraftKings)

You know we need to have some action on Tiger Woods, right?

Woods isn't in the position to contend on the PGA Tour right now, but he should have no problem making the cut this week. The Genesis Invitational features only 70 players, and the top 50 and ties after two rounds will make the cut. That's not all, though. In addition to the top 50, every player within 10 shots of the lead after two rounds will also make the cut.

It's hard to predict how well Tiger will play in his return to action, but he knows Riviera as well as any course on the PGA Tour schedule. He can put two decent rounds together.

Adam Scott top-10 finish (+260 FanDuel)

If you're looking for a course horse to target this week, look no further than Adam Scott.

In 15 career starts at Riv, the Australian has 10 top-25 finishes, seven top-10s and two wins. If that doesn't convince you, just check out his recent form. Scott has finished T8 or better in five of his last six worldwide starts, and he's been absolutely flushing the ball over that span. At last week's WM Phoenix Open, Scott ranked third in the field in strokes gained: approach.

Ball-striking is the name of the game at Riviera Country Club, and Scott is hitting the ball as well as anyone on Tour right now.

Will Zalatoris top-20 finish (+170 DraftKings)

Will Zalatoris returned to action in December after missing eight months due to a back injury, and he's slowly but surely working his way back into form. After two rusty performances at the Hero World Challenge and The Sentry, the 27-year-old finished T34 at The American Express and T13 at the Farmers Insurance Open last month. He also gained strokes in all four major categories in both starts.

Willy Z has finished solo fourth, T26 and T15 in three appearances at The Genesis Invitational. His game fits this course perfectly, so as long as he feels fully healthy, he should be in for a strong week.
