Golf best bets: 3 props for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

The PGA Tour heads to the Monterey Peninsula this week for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the second signature event on the 2024 schedule. This week's tournament will be held on two different courses — Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course — and features 80 players with no cut.

The story of this week is tiny greens, brutally tough putting surfaces and a high chance of rain and wind, so we're targeting elite ball strikers with previous success at Pebble and Spyglass. With that said, here are our three favorite props for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Jordan Spieth > Collin Morikawa (+120 DraftKings)

This is our favorite head-to-head matchup of the week.

Jordan Spieth is a Pebble Beach expert. In 12 career starts at Pebble, Spieth has never missed the cut, has six top-10 finishes and won in 2017. He also enters the week in good form, as he finished solo third and solo sixth in his last two starts.

Collin Morikawa is a California kid, but he's never played the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. His only professional start at Pebble came at the 2019 U.S. Open, and he finished a modest T35. He also lost more than 4.0 true strokes putting last week on similar poa annua greens.

Eric Cole top-20 finish (+200 ESPN BET)

Eric Cole missed the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open last week, but Torrey Pines is a terrible fit for his game. Before that, he made 18 straight cuts and had six straight finishes of T21 or better.

Pebble Beach is a much better fit for Cole, who thrives on shorter courses that de-emphasize driving distance. The 35-year-old is a fantastic iron and wedge player, which will be crucial this week with such small targets and strong winds. Cole also finished T15 here last year despite losing strokes with his putter.

Winner in the final grouping: No (+175 DK)

This is a bet on the weather. The forecast is calling for rain and winds upward of 50 miles per hour on Sunday, and Monday looks like more of the same. We're not sure when the final round will conclude based on this forecast, but we can almost guarantee the weather will be brutal for the leaders.

If a golfer from behind the pack can post an under-par final round, they'll have a great chance to hang on and win from behind.
