The Wisconsin football program is still in the running for a blue-chip EDGE rusher in the 2025 recruiting class.

Four-star EDGE Jayden Woods, who included the Badgers in his top 12, trimmed his list down to five on Thursday, listing Wisconsin alongside Penn State, Purdue, Florida, and Tennessee.

Programs that missed out on Woods’ top five include Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Michigan State, Kansas State, Baylor, and Texas A&M.

According to the composite rankings, Woods is the No. 209 player in the nation, the No. 9 EDGE rusher, and the No. 5 player in Kansas.

The four-star prospect most recently visited UW on a junior day visit. He has an official visit locked in for May 31st-June 2nd, and he’ll make other official visits to Penn State and Purdue in the weeks following.

Woods is among the top targets in the 2025 recruiting class for the Wisconsin football program at outside linebacker. They’re also after other targets such as Austin Alexander — who is set to announce his commitment today — and Gabe Kaminski.

In his junior campaign at Mill Valley High School, Woods recorded 71 tackles, 10.0 TFLs, 7.0 sacks, eight pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery, according to MaxPreps.

The Badgers have already picked up commitments from outside linebackers Brenden Anes and Samuel Lateju, but adding some more insurance at the position couldn’t be a wrong move.

As it stands, the Wisconsin football program holds eight total commitments in the 2025 cycle, good for the No. 19 recruiting class in the country per the composite rankings.
