Duke and North Carolina were the top two seeds in the ACC Tournament, and they were both top five-ranked teams in the nation, and the fourth-ranked Tar Heels defeated the top-ranked Blue Devils, 83-68, to win their second consecutive ACC Tournament Championship. Duke made only 33% of their field goal attempts, while North Carolina shot a hot 54%. UNC's Antawn Jamison was named the tournament MVP, as he recorded 22 points and 18 rebounds in the win over Duke. Shammond Williams added 19 points in the win.
