Saint Ignatius (San Francisco, CA) 2025 offensive tackle John Mills took to X/Twitter today to announce his top-six schools list, with USC among the final contenders for the 6-foot-6, 320-pound Mills. The Trojans will now be competing with Texas, Nebraska, Florida, Washington, and Cal for Mills' commitment.

The Trojans first offered the San Francisco native back in June of 2023 and will be bringing him on an official visit this coming June. Mills shared with AllBruins.com that academics are playing a big role in his recruitment. He's also slated to take official visits to Texas, Washington, and Cal this summer, but USC is going to be his last official visit in that streak spanning from late May through the later days of June.

247 Sports is also reporting he's lining up officials to both Nebraska and Florida as well but has yet to schedule them.

The continuity of the Trojans' offensive coaching battery amidst a complete defensive overhaul should bode well for Mill's recruitment to USC. Mills is just the second of two offensive linemen that USC currently has set visits dates for thus far, the other being Mario Nash, a four-star (On3) prospect out of Mississippi, both of whom are going to be seniors this fall.

USC is fresh off a 2024 recruiting class that featured five offensive linemen (two tackles), which trailed a 2023 recruiting class that also featured five offensive linemen.

While the OL position may not be a dire need for the Trojans, landing Mills, who recently won the West Catholic Athletic League's most valuable offensive lineman over Champ Taulealea, would be a big win up front for Josh Henson's unit.
