Ohio State’s Former Four-Star Recruit Has Landed At This Unexpected Big 12 School
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Ohio State finished spring practices and their spring game last week, and when spring ball ends, the spring transfer window opens up.

Ohio State Lost A Four Star Recruit This Week

The Buckeyes have one of the best rosters in college football, so many players who will not see any action have to decide if they want to stay and sit or enter the portal and see if they will play elsewhere. Ohio State’s defensive back Cedrick Hawkins decided that staying in Columbus wasn’t for him this week and entered the portal.

Hawkins Is Heading To The Big 12

According to Hayes Fawcett from On3.com, Hawkins has committed to UCF. Hawkins was a four-star safety coming out of high school last year and will have four years left of eligibility.

UCF Could Takeover The New Big 12

UCF entered the Big 12 last season, and they have a severe chance of being a legit contender in the conference for years to come. The Big 12 is losing Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC this summer, and Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado will be joining the conference. Utah has been an excellent football team the past few years, so they will not be an easy out, but UCF could be right with them until the end.

It will be neat to see if Hawkins gets on the field this season, and if he doesn’t, he still is very young with many more seasons left to play, so he will have plenty of time to make a name for himself.
