New England Patriots Top 30 Visit: UAB WR Tejhaun Palmer
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Every NFL franchise is allowed to invite up to 30 draft prospects to visit their facilities and meet with the members of the organization before the NFL Draft. These selections range from first-round targets to players who might be available as undrafted free agents. As news about the New England Patriots Top 30 visits surface, Patriots Football Now will highlight each of the visitors. Today’s feature is UAB wide receiver Tejhaun Palmer.

College Career

Tejhaun Palmer was not ranked by the 247 Sports composite rankings coming out of Brown Deer High School in Milwaukee, Wis. He opted to attend junior college.

Palmer played for the Snow College Badgers in Ephraim, Utah. Palmer played seven games for Snow in 2019. He recorded 20 receptions for 242 yards and five touchdowns.

Following no football in 2020, Palmer committed to UAB to finish out his college career. His first season with the Blazers was 2021. He played in 12 games but finished the season with just six receptions for 72 yards.

Palmer had a significant bump in production in each of the next two seasons. In 2022 he cracked the starting lineup and played all 13 games. His season totals improved to 30 receptions, 479 yards receiving, and two touchdowns. He earned honorable mention All-Confernece USA honors.

The 2023 season saw additional growth in Palmer’s game. He finished with 47 catches for 858 yards and seven touchdowns. Palmer registered four 100-yard receiving games and was named third-team All-AAC (UAB’s first year in the new conference).

Pro Football Focus noted Palmer’s improvement during his time at UAB. His offensive grades went from 56.3 (2021) to 67.2 (2022) to 71.4 (2023).

NFL Draft

Tejhaun Palmer had opportunities to boost his draft stock through the East-West Shrine Bowl and the UAB Pro Day. He caught one pass for 12 yards in the Shrine Bowl.

Palmer measured 6-foot-2 at his Pro Day and weighed 210 pounds. He has the build of an NFL wide receiver. He performed well in the timed/measured drills. Palmer ran a 4.45 in the 40. His vertical jump was 35″ with a 10’2″ broad jump.

The New England Patriots are looking to add to their wide receiver room. If they don’t add via trade, they will certainly draft one if not two wide receivers. Palmer has excellent measurables, but is on the older side of the prospects and has never put up huge numbers. However, his size and athleticism make him an intriguing prospect. Look for Palmer to be invited to camp as an undrafted free agent with a chance to earn a spot on the practice squad for 2024.
