Miami Hurricanes Lose Edge Collins Acheampong

Acheampong was a part of the 2023 class so he will have four years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-8, 270-pound edge rusher was a top-100 recruit in last year’s cycle. He chose the Hurricanes over Michigan but is now back on the market. Acheampong is likely transferring because of a lack of playing time. He did not see the field in 2023 despite being a highly touted recruit. There will likely be stiff competition for his services as an edge rusher is a premium position in football.

2024 Outlook

Miami will look to get back on top of the ACC in 2024. The first look at the schedule looks promising. They open the season against a Florida team that is bleeding talent. After that, the biggest matchup will be against the defending conference champion Florida State. The recruiting has been good in the 2024 cycle but now the challenge will be to have that translate to wins on the field.
