Former Saints draft pick becomes coach at top college football program
via USA TODAY-Sports

A former New Orleans Saints defender is headed to college football.

Vinnie Sunseri has taken a CFB job as the next Washington Huskies safeties coach. Washington has recently produced some talented pieces in the secondary. Sunseri will try to keep that trend going for one of the top programs in college football right now.

Sunseri was picked by the Saints in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL draft.

He dealt with a handful of injuries that ended his NFL career earlier than he would have preferred. Regardless, he has consistently worked hard to make sure he is involved with football in some capacity as a long-term career. This hire by Washington is one that has excited their fanbase.

The Huskies recently hired Jedd Fisch as their new head coach. Their previous head coach, Kalen DeBoer, left to replace Nick Saban at Alabama after he retired. Sunseri played his college ball with the Crimson Tide.

Sunseri started his coaching career at Alabama and recently worked for the New England Patriots. Now, he gets his biggest opportunity yet with many responsibilities at Washington.
