Eagles on cruise control for TNF

The sports world tonight revolves around Philadelphia and Houston, and it's only natural we build a cross-sports parlay between the NFL and MLB teams from both of these cities.

Eagles should cruise against the Texans — We're not seeing much in this game that suggests a close game is in store. Houston's defense has holes everywhere: they allow the most rush yards per game by a sizable margin, and their secondary has been vulnerable to chunk passes in the air. Both of these weaknesses line up beautifully with what the undefeated Eagles do well. Philly's offensive line is one of the best in football and should be able to dictate the line of scrimmage and get Miles Sanders out in space. Quarterback Jalen Hurts has certainly taken that "next step" this year, with one of the most noticeable improvements in his deep ball accuracy. Expect some shots to AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith against a Houston defense that has allowed the seventh-most passes of 20+ yards.

The spread tonight is -13.5, the largest ever for a road team on Thursday night. Instead of betting on the full game spread, why don't we focus on the first half where the Eagles have thrived? Philly is 7-0 to the 1H spread, typically thanks to monster second quarters. We'll add in a Miles Sanders score, as Houston has allowed the second-most TDs to RBs. Sanders also has four touchdowns in his last four weeks.

Parlay Leg 1 & 2 (+235)

  • Philly -7.5 1H
  • Miles Sanders touchdown

Expecting a bounce back from the Phillies' bats — Philadelphia was no-hit in Game 4, but it won't discourage us from continuing to feel good about their chances in this series. Numbers sort of get thrown out the window in some respects when it comes to postseason baseball, we expect the home crowd to be raucous tonight at Citizen's Bank Park and aid the Phillies in taking back a game, or at least keeping it close. Philadelphia was able to jump on Justin Verlander in Game 1, though it took a few innings, ultimately scoring five runs on six hits off the Astros ace. Verlander has never won a World Series start, and we'll be betting on that continuing.

Parlay Leg 3 & 4 (+115)

  • Phillies +1.5
  • Phillies over 2.5 runs

Together on DraftKings, you can parlay two SGP together, and this four-legger comes in at a reasonable +620. It's all coming up Philly tonight for us, enjoy the action!

In the news ...

Washington owner Dan Snyder exploring options to potentially sell the team — The big news out of the NFL Wednesday was that oft-investigated Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder is considering selling the team. There's been no shortage of issues out of the Washington organization since Snyder took over in 1999, and it was reported that he's hired Bank of America to oversee the sale of the team. Nothing has been confirmed, but groups of buyers are expected to mobilize and make offers to buy the NFC East team.

Astros combine to throw second no-hitter in World Series history — Houston's 5-0 Game 4 win was a pivotal one to even the World Series, and it came with some added history. Four Astros pitchers, Cristian Javier, Bryan Abreu, Rafael Montero, and Ryan Pressley, combined to throw just the second no-hitter ever in a World Series game. The Philly bats will look to rebound in Game 5 against Justin Verlander.

Start prepping for Week 10 in college football, it's already begun — We basically have college football every night of the week now, so if you haven't yet taken in the Week 10 board, now is the time. The weekend's highlight is the "Game of the Year' between No. 2 Tennessee and No. 1 Georgia, but that's far from the only action on the college gridiron. We've got No. 6 Alabama visiting No. 10 LSU and No. 4 Clemson heading to South Bend and a date with Notre Dame, among others.
