The Indianapolis Colts prepare to defend their home turf against the visiting Cleveland Browns on Sunday, but first, they needed to turn in their final day of full practice on Friday ahead of the AFC matchup this weekend.
A pair of Colts offensive starters in tight end Kylen Granson and right tackle Braden Smith remained sidelines with their injuries while starting outside receiver Alec Pierce continued to increase his workload.
The Browns, meanwhile, got quite a bit of positive development on their injury report.
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
QUESTIONABLE — WR Alec Pierce
OUT — TE Kylen Granson, OT Braden Smith
With Granson out, we can expect to see more of Drew Ogletree and Will Mallory while Mo Alie-Cox may maintain a similar role that he's seen in the first several weeks. If Pierce is unable to suit up, it could mean more action on the outside for Isaiah McKenzie, Amari Rodgers, and/or Juwann Winfree.
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
QUESTIONABLE — TE Harrison Bryant, RB Kareem Hunt, CB Greg Newsome, QB Deshaun Watson
OUT — LB Sione Takitaki
The Browns have seen an increased workload from a handful of significant players throughout practice this week. Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Friday that they want to see how Watson, Bryant, and Newsome respond over the next 48 hours to their added reps before deciding if they'll play on Sunday.
Watson returned to practice for the first time in a few weeks. Bitonio missed last week's game but is back.
