Cardinals Met With Texas Tech CB

The Arizona Cardinals are doing work on a few different cornerbacks this draft cycle, and you can add Texas Tech cornerback Rayshad Williams to the list.

When speaking with The Draft Network's Justin Melo, Williams confirmed he met with the Cardinals during the Hula Bowl.

"I met with a lot of teams during that week. Off the top of my head, I met with the Packers, Cardinals, 49ers, Bears, and Dolphins at the Hula Bowl. I met with the Jets and Seahawks as well," Williams said.

Arizona also reportedly has Top 30 visits set with Auburn CB Nehemiah Pritchett, Washington RB Dillon Johnson and USC WR Brenden Rice.

The Cardinals selected two corners in the 2023 NFL Draft - Garrett Williams and Kei'Trel Clark - while also seeing UDFA Starling Thomas V contribute to their secondary.

Arizona, now without Marco Wilson after releasing him during the season, needs more capable bodies in the secondary, let alone playmakers who can create turnovers. 

"Entering the process, there were some questions about me maybe moving to safety because I’m a big-bodied player (6-3, 215). I’m definitely a cornerback though," Williams told Melo. 

"Scouts saw that at the Hula Bowl. I received a lot of good feedback at boundary corner. I can play the position at a high level."

The Cardinals have over $50 million in cap space with double-digit picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, six of which come in the first three rounds.
