Big 12 2024 Football Schedule: Arizona State Edition

Big 12 Football for 2024 will be exciting with 16 teams and who will compete for the championship. Check out the Arizona State schedule below.

Team overview from 2023

Arizona State went 3-9 overall and 2-7 in conference. This year wasn’t well and wasn’t the best before entering the Big 12. The Sun Devils had over 300 yards per game on offense and allowed their opponents almost 400 yards per game. They have to fix the holes in their defense before entering the Big 12 or those 400 yards per game will be much more than that. Arizona State is going to have to step up their use in the run game and get that going to be successful in the Big 12.

Schedule

Wyoming

ASU took on Wyoming last time in 1977 and posted a shutout 45-0. Arizona holds the record in this 15-series matchup. The Sun Devils should win here and start the season strong.

Mississippi State

This will be a new matchup for both teams as they have never met on the gridiron before. Arizona State will lose this game and be 1-1 after two weeks.

Texas State

For the second week in a row, they will meet a team on the field they have never faced before. This time it will be different when they come out with the win and will be at 2-1 in 2024.

Texas Tech

Texas Tech beat Arizona State in 2017 52-45. This game has only been played four times and is tied at two games a piece. The Red Raiders will come out with the win and put the Sun Devils at 2-2 on the year.

Kansas

For the third time this season, they will meet a team on the gridiron that they have never met before. This one will become a regular game in the Big 12. The Sun Devils this time around will lose this game and be 2-3 in 2024.

Utah

Arizona State will take on Utah again this year most likely ending with the same outcome. Last year’s matchup Utah won 55-3 adding another win to their side of the series. These two teams have played 35 times over the years. Arizona State will lose this game and be at 2-4 on the year.

Cincinnati

Cincinnati won the last matchup in 1976 14-0. This series has only been played twice and the Bearcats have won them both. Arizona State is predicted to win this year’s matchup.

Oklahoma State

Arizona State and the Cowboys faced off last season and the Cowboys won 27-15. They have faced off five times over the years. The Sun Devils will lose this matchup and be 3-5 in 2024.

UCF

Arizona State won the only game between the two of them 46-13 in 2002. They are predicted to win the second game of this matchup this fall.

Kansas State

The last game was the Holiday Bowl in 2002 and the Wildcats won this one 34-27. Arizona State holds this win column in this six-game matchup. This time around they will lose and be 4-6.

BYU

BYU won the last matchup in 2021 27-17 in Provo. Arizona State holds this series as it has been played 28 times over the years. The Sun Devils will win this matchup and be at 5-6 in 2024.

Arizona

Last season these two played and Arizona won 59-23. With this being a rivalry game it has been played 97 times with Arizona winning 51 of those matchups. The Wildcats are also predicted to win the first of many in the Big 12.
