Formula One recently rejected the iconic racing team Andretti Autosports’ bid to join Formula One for the 2024 season. The application was rejected because F1 doesn’t expect the team to be competitive and doesn’t see them adding value to the F1. But the discussions are still going on about potentially changing the decision.

It was Michael Andretti‘s second attempt to rejoin the F1 grid that was rejected in recent years as an 11th-hour deal in 2021 to take over Sauber fell through. While many Team Bosses are against Andretti joining, Red Bull’s team Principal Christian Horner is open to the Americans coming to the sport. But he also doesn’t see them joining as an 11th team.

Formula 1 made its position clear, It doesn't mean that Andretti can't come, it just means that they can't come as a new or 11th team. So the opportunity still exists for them to take over an existing franchise or team if they can reach commercial terms. Christian Horner said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

Even though there is little chance of Andretti joining the grid, Horner hasn’t completely ruled it out. During the same media session, the CEO of McLaren Zack Brown told the media, that F1 outlined the requirements and took that decision and the choice has been made. According to him, they are just focused on their race teams and currently wish to just get on with the season.

F1 rumors suggest Christian Horner might lose his job next week

The principal of Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner, was reportedly asked to resign voluntarily after being accused of acting inappropriately in February. Since then, he has been the subject of scrutiny and an investigation. The team principal has categorically denied them.

Preseason testing for the 2024 season has now ended. But it is seen that during the preseason testing Christian Horner and Red Bull Paddock have been in the news lately because of a claim made against him by a company employee. According to a report from Viaplay Finland, Christian Horner will be let go by the end of the week news came to light. However, it was later clarified that this was just speculation and not the actual removal.

Despite conflicting responses, Horner reassured Red Bull supporters that he would confidently guide the team into the season and verified that there was no animosity between him and other important Red Bull figures. Despite the clarifications, the speculations are still in full swirl, as the current Red Bull team principal’s future is still in darkness.
