'Pure Speculation', Christian Horner refutes Helmut Marko’s claims of Red Bull being in talks with Carlos Sainz for 2025

Carlos Sainz is without a doubt the most sought-after driver on the grid. After his astonishing win in Australia, he was able to catch the eye of Red Bull. The Spaniard has been linked with the Milton Keynes team for some time now. However, Milton Keynes is facing stiff competition from Audi to take over the Spaniard.

Red Bull’s team advisor Helmut Marko had previously claimed that Milton Keynes will not be able to match Audi’s lucrative offer to Sainz. However, Team Principal Christian Horner has decided to sweep all the talks under the rug by calling them speculations. Horner went against Marko as he refused to speak on the matter.

All the top teams are trying to get the smooth operator on board, and they have all the right reasons. Sainz is an intelligent driver, who has immense potential. He is also the only non-Red Bull driver to claim wins since 2022, which ultimately proves his worth. Horner labeled rumors about being in talks with Sainz as ‘pure speculation.’ Moreover, the 50-year-old claimed that Red Bull had no idea about Audi’s offer to the Spaniard.

At this point in time, we’re very happy with the line-up we have. So there’s no imminent rush to announce drivers, the full line-up for 2025. As far as other drivers, I mean, it’s pure speculation, we have no idea if and what Audi has offered Carlos, who is a key driver that’s on the open market. Christian Horner told Planetf1

Carlos Sainz still in the unknown over F1 future

After Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari was confirmed, there was no option for Carlos Sainz but to look for another home from the next season. However, despite all the negotiations, the 29-year-old remains unsure where he will end up next season. While talking about the same he told the media, Sainz mentioned he was simply focused on his driving.

Honestly, unfortunately I have no clue where I’m going to be next year. It’s true that we’re talking to many teams. I just need to keep focused on what I’m doing, just prove to myself, prove to everyone that when I’m given a fast car, I’m maximising what I’m given and I deliver. Carlos Sainz via: Formula 1

There is one thing where the smooth operator doesn’t fail is delivering the best performance. Up until now, he has a podium in every race he has participated in this season, with the iconic Australian GP win. With having interests of many teams Sainz is taking time to carefully choose his fate in prospects of the future.

Certainly, it will be interesting to see where the Spaniard headed for next season. Red Bull could be the right option for Carlos Sainz. However, it is unclear whether Milton Keynes has offered the 29-year-old a contract for next season.
