Martin Brundle warns Ferrari of the ‘disruption’ Lewis Hamilton going to bring to Maranello
Lucas Peltier-USA TODAY Sports

Before the onset of the season, it was revealed that Lewis Hamilton would be joining Ferrari in 2025. This news trundled waves in the paddock and created an interesting situation in the Scuderia where the current stability may be disrupted. Recently, Sky Sports commentator, Martin Brundle, expressed his views on the change that might take place within the prancing horse.

The scarlet duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz is regarded as one of the best on the current F1 grid. Moreover, Leclerc is known for his impressive qualifying pace, while the Spaniard is a consistent point-scorer for the team. However, with news of the Brit joining Ferrari, the latter will make way for him. Subsequently, this move begs the question of how will the team dynamics be affected once Hamilton joins the team.

While referring to the problem that is knocking on the door, Brundle shared what Fred Vasseur must ask himself:

When I sometimes hear [Fred] Vasseur talk about [Lewis] Hamilton’s arrival, I wonder whether he is one hundred percent satisfied with the disruption it will bring. Martin Brundle said as reported by f1maximaal

The former F1 driver explained that Sainz brought in a stable environment in the team where the Monegasque was at the forefront, and the Spaniard was always present to knab at an opportunity if available. However, with the inevitable change, the French team principal must wonder where will the team be headed once the Englishman joins next year. Thus, it will be a tough decision for Vasseur to give preference between Leclerc and Hamilton.

Has Ferrari got rid of the wrong driver?

Bahrain was a race to forget for Leclerc while his teammate outshined him with an amazing podium under the lights. This shift in the balance has sparked questions in the paddock whether axing Sainz was the right choice.

F1 pundit, Noami Schiff stated her opinion on the matter:

There have been moments where things happened in Charles’ garage that weren’t necessarily happening on Carlos’ side, on race day. That’s because it seemed like Carlos was ahead on a few things. Charles, maybe, relies on his speed quite a lot. Naomi Schiff said as reported by essentiallysports

Schiff explained that Sainz’s camp is always present to make the most out of the situation. On the other hand, Leclerc needs the setup of the car exactly in his perfect window, and then only he can perform.

Due to such circumstances, people have speculated that Vasseur might have fired the wrong guy who brings stability and consistency to the team. However, we would get to know how this move will affect the team dynamics and who will have the upper hand at the Scuderia.
