Marko's future in Red Bull No Longer Uncertain After Crucial Team Boss Meeting

Red Bull Racing advisory Helmut Marko announced his future with Red Bull Racing is positive amid possible separation and power struggles rumors.

Helmut Marko collaborated with Red Bull even before the big brand entered F1. Marko managed a Red Bull junior team in Formula 3000 and Formula 3 since 1999.

When Red Bull GmbH decided to enter the sport of Formula One in 2005 with Red Bull Racing and in 2006 with Scuderia Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri), Marko became advisor of both teams and worked closely with them ever since.

The Austrian played a key role in the development of both teams and mainly their drivers. However, his future with the team was lately uncertain, and the 80-year-old hinted there was a Red Bull team boss meeting that would decide about it.

Rumors about power struggles between the team principal, Christian Horner, and Marko could have contributed to uncertainty around Marko's future.

In his recent interview with OE24, the Austrian was reminded about the meeting and asked whether his future with Red Bull is now clear, and he responded:

"Yes, in a positive sense, everything is continuing as planned."

In the 2024 season - The formula One calendar will, for the first have 24 races in its calendar which is two more than 22 that were held in 22.

Drivers already complained about the calendar being too busy and exhausting, but next season is expected to be even more challenging. The reporter then asked the 80-year-old whether it meant he would have to endure 24 races for the first time in 2024, and Marko said:

"Yes, yes. But that's not stressful for me. If I said: 'It's crazy what's coming to me!', it would be difficult. But I say to myself: Australia is beautiful, I'm looking forward to the trip to Melbourne. From Friday 11 a.m. to Sunday evening I do my job for Red Bull Racing, and I enjoy it."
