Helmut Marko names two circuits where Red Bull ‘could lose a race’ in 2024

The Red Bull F1 team has started the 2024 season in top gear having already amassed race wins in Bahrain and Jeddah. The outfit has also managed to secure a brilliant 1-2 finish in both races courtesy of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

With the Australian Grand Prix slated to take place next week, Red Bull’s adviser, Helmut Marko has taken the time to shed light on the tracks where the Austrian outfit could lose. Marko feels Singapore and Monaco could prove to be tricky for the team.

Considering the nature of the two tracks, Marko is aware of how crucial qualifying is around Singapore and Monaco.

But on circuits where qualifying is really decisive, like Monaco and Singapore, we could well lose a race if we don't take pole position. Maybe we won't lose in the same way as last year in Singapore, but there is a chance that we won't be on one of those tracks to win. Helmut Marko said via Motorsport

The Red Bull F1 team was able to amass a sensational 21 Grand Prix wins out of the available 22 last year. The only track where Max Verstappen and Co. were not able to win was the famous Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore.

Helmut Marko has been involved in a few controversies at Red Bull

While Helmut Marko has taken the time to talk about the tracks where Red Bull could lose races, alongside the Christian Horner saga, Marko has also been at the center of a few controversies at Red Bull in recent times.

He was recently accused of leaking information regarding the Horner investigation to the media. A lot was said about it and there was a time when the 80-year-old was in real danger of getting sacked from the team.

But after talks with Red Bull CEO, Oliver Minzlaff things cooled down. Moreover, Verstappen views Marko as an extremely important figure at Red Bull. He has expressed this multiple times.

I have always expressed this to everyone within the team, everyone high up, that he is an important part in my decision-making for all the time in the future as well within the team. Max Verstappen said in a recent interview, as reported by The Athletic

Helmut Marko has been at Red Bull since the beginning and is considered one of the main pillars of the team. Things have been brilliant under the current set of regulations in terms of on-track performance and the sooner they get rid of the negativity currently surrounding the team, the better it will be. However, if things escalate further in the coming weeks, it could start hurting the on-track results.
