Max Verstappen and Red Bull are one of the most dominant pairings in F1 history. The Dutch driver has raced for Milton Keynes since his mid-season promotion in 2016 and has won three world titles with the Austrian team. However, there have been rumors of the 26-year-old potentially leaving Red Bull this year. Now, Fernando Alonso has dismissed such speculation.

Tensions have risen at Red Bull due to Christian Horner’s inappropriate behavior investigation. Max Verstappen‘s father Jos Verstappen had a fallout with Horner. This stirred rumors of Verstappen’s potential exit. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff left the door open for the reigning world champion to move to the Silver Arrows.

Fernando Alonso admitted that Verstappen’s exit would have an impact on the driver market. However, the Spanish driver claimed that there were zero chances for such a move. Alonso was asked why he felt that the three-time world champion would not leave Milton Keynes. The 42-year-old simply stated that he had a feeling that Max Verstappen will continue with Red Bull.

Sure, if Max [Verstappen] leaves Red Bull, maybe that has an impact. But I think there is zero chance of that happening... I don't know [why]. That's my feeling. Fernando Alonso said, as reported by RacingNews365

The Dutch driver’s contract extends till the end of 2028. However, some believe that Verstappen could leave if Adrian Newey decided to move elsewhere, amidst rumors of Aston Martin trying to lure the Red Bull aero-genius.

Fernando Alonso’s current contract with Aston Martin expires at the end of this year. The two-time world champion has been rumored to replace Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. Moreover, there have been reports about Red Bull being interested in signing Alonso to partner Max Verstappen. However, the 42-year-old has continued to prioritize the Silverstone-based squad for now.

Alonso claimed that he was not thinking much about the busy driver market. The two-time world champion simply concentrated on racing. Fernando Alonso highlighted that he first needs to decide if he wants to continue racing before making a call on the best seat for next year. The 42-year-old affirmed that he was not into the stress and rumors over 2025.

What I want to do is just concentrate on my stuff here and just this race, before trying to make a decision of if I keep racing around, and if I keep racing, where will be the best possibility. That stress that is happening, I know the rumors... I'm not into those for sure. Fernando Alonso stated

Fernando Alonso will need to soon make a call on his future in Formula 1. The Spanish driver will likely stay on the grid in 2025. The two-time world champion would certainly look for the fastest car available for next year. Fans would be hoping to see Alonso potentially get a race-winning car next season.
