Ex-F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone claims people will ‘move on’ from Christian Horner saga like they forgot World War II

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner had a difficult period during the start of the 2024 season. The Briton was accused of inappropriate behavior by a female employee at Milton Keynes. After an independent investigation, Horner was cleared of all allegations. However, tensions remained within the Austrian team. Now, former F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone has made an interesting comparison regarding this case.

Ecclestone claimed that it was time for peace within Milton Keynes. Moreover, the 93-year-old was informed by Christian Horner that the Red Bull team boss no longer had any troubles with his wife Geri Halliwell. The former F1 Supremo reckoned that Max Verstappen would likely remain at Red Bull despite rumors of a potential exit.

Bernie Ecclestone compared Horner’s situation to World War II. The 93-year-old claimed that like in any war, people will move on from Christian Horner’s investigation saga. Ecclestone recalled that after the second world war, the Jews boycotted German products for some time. However, things returned to normal shortly afterwards, with the Jews happily buying the German-made Mercedes cars.

As in any war, people then get over things and move on. After the Second World War Germany could not be named and the Jews bought nothing that came from there. And it was understandable. But shortly thereafter they forgot and started buying Mercedes. Bernie Ecclestone explained

Bernie Ecclestone claims there’s no reason to sack Christian Horner

Christian Horner’s role at Red Bull was rumored to be under threat due to the entire case. However, the 50-year-old had the support of the Thai majority shareholders of Red Bull GmbH. Moreover, it is believed that Horner further strengthened his position after a high-level Red Bull meeting in Dubai a couple of weeks ago.

Bernie Ecclestone claimed that there was no reason to sack Christian Horner. The ex-F1 Supremo reckoned that time healed everything, with the Red Bull team boss continuing to do a great job for Milton Keynes. Additionally, Ecclestone mentioned that Horner had even won support of Halliwell and his team following the investigation verdict.

So I don't see why anyone should want to kick Christian out. Time heals everything. He is doing an excellent job and a few weeks can make a difference. Meanwhile, he has the support of Geri and the team is doing well. Bernie Ecclestone stated

Christian Horner will continue to lead Red Bull Racing for the foreseeable future. The 50-year-old seems to be comfortably in place at the Austrian team despite previous tensions. Horner currently aims for Milton Keynes to secure its fourth back-to-back Drivers’ title for Max Verstappen this season alongside a third Constructors’ championship in a row.
