The news of McLaren zeroing in on their existing racer Lando Norris to get him to sign a contract extension has taken over the F1 world. Even during the off-season, the F1 fans have come alive to discuss all the different indications and aspects of Lando Norris’ multi-year deal with the papaya army which will see him extend what was going to a 6-year-old allegiance with McLaren. Ever since debuting in F1 in 2019, Lando has chosen to stick with the same outfit, and this has given rise to some questions in the minds of the fans.

Lando Norris was rumored to be entertaining a deal from the current World Championship-winning team Red Bull to replace Checo. But the Briton has dismissed that option by claiming that he would not prefer to join Max Verstappen in the same team as he wants to take the Dutchman down even though he is the ‘world’s best racer’. While many have disagreed with Norris’ view and have even said that he is shying away from combating with the three-time World Champion, Damon Hill has other things to say.

Formula 1’s 1996 World Champion Damon Hill took to Twitter to lend his support to Lando Norris’ plan of not joining Red Bull. He replied to the SkySportsF1 tweet that mentioned whatever Lando Norris had said about why he was not too keen on joining Red Bull.

Damon Hill recently heaped support on Zak Brown’s call for the FOM to address Red Bull’s co-ownership

Despite being 63 years of age, Damon Hill seems to be at the top of his social media game. The Briton replied on Lando Norris’ statement about not joining Red Bull on X, and he also commented on Lando’s Boss Zak Brown claiming that Formula 1 must ban co-ownership in the sport. This is mostly because Red Bull and AlphaTauri are being seen to be making a very close bond together so that they can group up and beat all the other teams

Zak Brown has claimed in his written statement for skySportsF1 that there must be fairness in the dealings with the teams. He also indicated that if two teams group together, they would get to share each other’s resources and this might even help Red Bull go beyond the cost cap to advance their car parts, thus creating a big model for the rest of the teams. Damon Hill seconded Brown’s proposition by resharing the comment on Instagram and adding “100% Agreed” to it.
