Christian Horner breaks silence on reports of him ‘involved’ in procedures to get Helmut Marko out of Red Bull

The last few weeks have been quite intense for the Austrian giant Red Bull. The team have been under tight scrutiny and found themselves in a situation where key personnel leaving the team due to Christian Horner and the Red Bull saga became a significant possibility. Moreover, it was rumored that Helmut Marko could be axed by the team in a recent surprise. Now, the Brit has broken his silence on the matter regarding Marko’s supposed exit.

The Milton Keynes-based team has been at the center of discussion in the paddock for quite a while. Amid all this, it was speculated that the Austrian was on the brink of suspension.

There has been no decision-making process around Helmut, so I am not quite sure where the rumour has permeated from. But it is not something I’ve been involved in. Christian Horner told Autosport.

The Englishman elaborated that he has no role in the decision-making process, about who stays and who doesn’t. Moreover, Horner claimed that there has been no discussion around Marko’s future in the team and is unsure of where the rumor originated from. Subsequently, these speculations have arisen after the frenzy going on within the team and fans await a final verdict on what will happen.

What does Helmut Marko make of the rumors regarding his role in the document leak?

Due to the recent speculations that Marko is one of the suspects surrounding the document leak. However, the 80-year-old has a different perspective regarding his role in the supposed documents that were revealed.

Absolute rubbish. I'm really happy when I have my iPhone halfway under control. I haven't seen this report or any of these chats. I deliberately stayed out of it. To associate me with it was almost like a planned operation, as I realised. ‘Cunning’, as [Niki] Lauda would say. Helmut Marko said.

Marko stated that such claims were rubbish and didn’t have any base. Moreover, the Austrian stated that he didn’t have any involvement in the leaks and had never seen the documents himself as he had stated previously also that he was shocked by the files that were disseminated.

On the other hand, the saga at the team continues even further and awaits a solution. Subsequently, their star driver, Max Verstappen is linked to a move to Mercedes, due to the internal feud. Fans worldwide await the verdict about who will prevail at the Austrian giant and whether key officials will leave the team or not.
