Tig Notaro says she's never met Dave Bautista despite both starring in 'Army of the Dead'

Tig Notaro has become known for not recognizing the most recognizable celebrities in the world—she created a Funny or Die show around that characteristic—but she gets a pass this time.

"I've never met David Bautista in my life," Notaro said on Tuesday night's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. "I have never met the man."

You may be confused, considering Bautista and Notaro are both in Netflix's apocalypse thriller Army of the Dead, but let Notaro explain a little further.

"It is me on green screen the whole time," the 50-year-old standup comedienne-turned-actress continued. "But there was a half-day that Anna, one of the actresses, came, and she walked me from a stairwell to halfway to my helicopter. My assistant was on set, and he's 6'2", and they would put him in a green suit, and every now and then, I would look up and talk to him."

Army of the Dead, directed and written by Zack Snyder, follows Scott Ward (Bautista) as he assembles a group of mercenaries to fight a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas. Notaro plays Marianna Peters, a helicopter pilot asked by Ward to help transport the mercenary group.

The film is arriving to theaters Friday (May 21).
