The first trailer for The Exorcism has dropped, and it’s confusing people.
That’s because it’s the second time Russell Crowe has starred in a film about exorcisms in two years, the first being 2023’s The Pope's Exorcist - and, weirdly, the two films are entirely unrelated.
Maybe Crowe wanted to try doing a supernatural horror film where he didn’t have to put on an Italian accent?
In The Exorcism, the Academy Award-winner plays Anthony Miller, a troubled actor who’s shooting a supernatural horror film.
One film he won't be appearing in is Gladiator 2, which features an epic baboon fight, says Ridley Scott.
As per the official synopsis, “His estranged daughter, Lee (Ryan Simpkins), wonders if he's slipping back into his past addictions or if there's something more sinister at play.” Probably the sinister thing.
The film also stars Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg, and Niles from Frasier himself, David Hyde Pierce.
The Exorcism releases in theaters on June 7.
