Predicting the 2020 MTV VMA winners

MTV may not be known as a channel to showcase music videos any longer, however, the network still honors artists for the best visuals that dropped throughout the year with its annual Video Music Awards. The pandemic has changed the course of live events in 2020, but that hasn't stopped MTV in making sure viewers will witness a must-see show.

Artists such as Doja Cat, BTS, and J Balvin are all slated to take the stage. In addition to show-stopping performances, viewers are always curious about which artists will walk away with a Moon Person trophy. Leading the pack this year are Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, who both scored nine VMA nominations, while artists like Billie Eilish and The Weeknd are not too far behind. The winners are then chosen based on fan votes.

Before Keke Palmer hosts the star-studded 2020 VMAs on Sunday, Aug. 30, check out our predictions for this year's winners.
