Emily Blunt laughs at 'Fantastic Four' rumors: 'That is fan-casting'

What if real-life power couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski played Mr. Fantastic (also known as Reed Richards) and Invisible Woman (also known as Sue Storm) in the forthcoming Fantastic Four installment?

Blunt hardly let Howard Stern get the question out before giggling away any rumors that she will be joining the franchise:

"No, that is fan-casting," the Golden Globe-winning actress said. "No one has received a phone call. That is all—that's just people saying, 'Wouldn't that be great?', and that's it."

Stern then proposed that perhaps Blunt is "too good of an actress" to take superhero movies seriously, which was again met with resistance by her: "Don't say that. No. It's not that it's beneath me. It's not that. Because I love Iron Man. I wanted to work with Robert Downey Jr. It would have been amazing. But I don't know if superheroes are for me. They're not up my alley." The 38-year-old also similarly downplayed the rumors with Entertainment Weekly

Blunt was previously considered to play Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, ultimately played by Scarlett Johansson, in Iron Man 2 (2010).
The good news is that Blunt and Krasinski have made a franchise of their own in A Quiet Place. The sci-fi horror film debuted in April 2018, and Part II will hit theaters May 28. Watch the first and final trailers below.
