Dwayne Johnson: Emily Blunt is 'the female version of Indiana Jones' in 'Jungle Cruise'

Fans will finally be able to take Jungle Cruise for a spin later this month (July 30) after several COVID-related delays, and Dwayne Johnson is ramping up his promotional efforts.

While visiting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 49-year-old megawatt movie star put the spotlight squarely on his Jungle Cruise counterpart.

"I had one human being in mind to be my co-star, and that was always Emily Blunt," the Rock said. "She's super talented. She's a multi-threat. And we became great friends. I love her. I love her family. John [Krasinski], their kids. We're all one big Ohana, as we like to say in [Hawaii]. And I can't wait for everybody to see her in this movie because she truly is the female version—and this is saying a lot—of Indiana Jones. I'm very proud of her and how much she kicks ass in this movie."

Jungle Cruise, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, is "based on Disneyland's theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles but with a supernatural element" (h/t IMDb).

Johnson provided more context with Fallon:

Blunt and Johnson previously joked that they needed to get drunk and high to get through their on-screen kiss toward the end of their 10-minute sit-down interview with Access shared last week:

With Fallon, Johnson also discussed how obsessed his three-year-old daughter, Tia, is with Jason Momoa as Aquaman and the first thing he ate as soon as filming wrapped on Black Adam. Watch that, plus the Jungle Cruise trailer, below.
