Britney Spears shares rare Instagram photo with teenaged sons

Conversations have swirled around Britney Spears since the Framing Britney Spears documentary debuted on FX then hit Hulu last month, but the 39-year-old has been reclaiming the microphone on Instagram.

Monday, Spears posted an Instagram photo with her sons, 15-year-old Sean and 14-year-old Jayden:

The emoji-filled caption reads as follows:

"It’s so crazy how time flies .... My boys are so big now !!!! I know … I know … it’s very hard for any mama especially a mama with boys seeing them grow up so fast !!!! Talk about enough to make you go to your knees ... GEEZ  !!!! I’m extremely lucky because my two babies are such gentleman and so kind that I must have done something right  !!!! I haven’t posted pictures of them for some time cause they’re at the age where they want to express their own identities and I totally get it .... But I went out of my way to make this cool edit and guess what .... They’re finally letting me post it !!! Now I don’t feel left out anymore and I’m gonna go celebrate .... Oh I guess cool moms don’t do that ... Ok I’ll just read a book instead  !!!!"

The Grammy-winning pop star has also posted throwbacks in the last week to the famed era reevaluated by the eye opening documentary:

The 75-minute show orbits around Spears' conservatorship and the subsequent #FreeBritney movement. Her father, Jamie Spears, petitioned for the court to place his daughter under a "temporary conservatorship" in 2008, and he controversially continues to oversee the "Baby One More Time" singer's life and estate as co-conservator.

This thorough timeline compiled by Women's Health is helpful in trying to understand the complicated, nuanced matter.

Since the documentary first aired Feb. 5, Spears' boyfriend, Sam Asghari, has spoken out.

"I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," he exclusively told People. "I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together."

The matter was again in court last week with future hearings scheduled for March 17 and April 27.

Spears welcomed Sean and Jayden with then-husband Kevin Federline in 2005 and '06 respectively.

Jayden has even made waves for disparaging his grandfather and saying he hadn't seen his mom "doing a lot of music at all" on Instagram Live last March.
