Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer recently appeared on the “The Great Indian Kapil Show”, a talk show hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma. The three spoke about various things and participated in many games.
During the show, Kapil Sharma asked Rohit Sharma if players ever made excuses for dropping catches during matches, which Sharma confirms happens way too often. Sharma added that every player claims they’ve had issues with the sunlight, sunglasses and many more. He jokingly mocked Shreyas Iyer as well, claiming Iyer also makes these excuses.
They wear sunglasses on the top of the cap. I don't understand that. As a captain, I know how painful it is when someone comes and gives you excuses like that. I put myself in that situation when I did it once or twice. It's just common sense. Now even Iyer can tell you how many times he's done it. Rohit Sharma said
Iyer took the joke well, but explained his point of view. He claimed players always needed to find a way to save themselves to ensure the captain doesn’t get too angry at them.
Ever since he was removed as captain of Mumbai Indians, there have been reports of Rohit Sharma wanting to leave the team. Replaced by Hardik Pandya, the Indian captain is not happy with the way his tenure ended and reportedly wants to find a new franchise to play for next season.
Amidst all these rumors, Sharma was spotted in the car of MI owner Akash Ambani on the eve of their clash with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He was in the passenger seat of Ambani’s Bentley, while the owner drove the car.

MI will host rivals RCB on the night of 11th April. Both teams started the 2024 IPL poorly, winning only one match so far. Both are also in the bottom three of the points table, with both needing a win in hopes to get in better form.
