Wisconsin football redshirt junior offensive lineman Trey Wedig will enter the transfer portal after four seasons with the Badgers.

The Kettle Moraine High School standout was the top reserve lineman for the Badgers this past season but will now look to finish his collegiate career elsewhere.

The 6-foot-7, 318-pound lineman will have up to two years of eligibility remaining.

Wisconsin Football OL Trey Wedig Enters the Transfer Portal

Throughout the Wisconsin football team’s season, Trey Wedig was essentially the Badgers’ unofficial sixth starting lineman, rotating behind offensive guards Joe Huber and Miachel Furtney.

Wedig appeared in 10 games this past season, logging 252 total snaps, all of which came at left or right guard. Nevertheless, his playing time dwindled following the Iowa game. The in-state product showed tremendous versatility in 2022, however, appearing in 10 games and making eight starts, five of which came at right tackle.

According to Pro Football Focus, Wedig finished with a 67.0 grade (good) for the Wisconsin football team this past season — and a 73.7 grade in 2022, so he should have plenty of suitors lined up in the transfer portal.

Initially, Wedig joined the Wisconsin Badgers as a member of the 2020 recruiting class under former head coach Paul Chryst. He was considered a four-star, top-125 prospect and held offers from Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Nebraska, Minnesota, Tennessee, and several others.

He is now the eighth known Wisconsin football player to enter the transfer portal this offseason — joining Badgers center Dylan Barrett, quarterback Myles Burkett, linebacker Ross Gengler, cornerback Amaun Williams, OLB Jordan Mayer, and WRs Skyler Bell and Chimere Dike.
