Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver Jordan Watkins is "available" in Saturday night's game against the Auburn Tigers after suffering a hand injury at a practice during the bye week.

The news was listed on an injury report provided by the ESPN broadcast during the first quarter on Saturday night. Watkins was the only player listed for Ole Miss on those potentially affected by injuries.

Sources indicated to The Grove Report last week that Watkins suffered an injury during a Wednesday practice. He is currently the team's leading receiver with 536 receiving yards and has two touchdown catches through six games.

According to sources with knowledge of the situation, it "seemed that way" that Watkins was injured at practice, but the severity of the injury was still uncertain on Wednesday when the news was provided.

Watkins has yet to take a snap in the Saturday night game on The Plains, but that hasn't stopped Ole Miss from gaining an early lead. The Rebels forced a turnover on downs near midfield from Auburn on its opening drive, and despite multiple holding penalties when the Rebels took over, they still managed to drive the field for a score, thanks in large part to rushing efforts from Quinshon Judkins.

Ole Miss found the end zone on a pass from Jaxson Dart to Zakhari Franklin, his first touchdown reception of the season.
