Watch: Ohio State Answer vs. Michigan With Emeka Egbuka TD
USA Today Sports

Saturday's matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines kicked off as arguably the biggest and most consequential game in the history of the rivalry, with Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff hopes on the line for both teams.

Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, they have found themselves in an early hole, trailing the Wolverines 14-3 midway through the second quarter - a lead that was brought in part by a controversial Michigan touchdown

On the next drive, however, the Buckeyes were able to respond, with QB Kyle McCord marching down the field for a 73-yard touchdown drive, capped off by a three-yard score from Emeka Egbuka.

The drive got started quickly for the Buckeyes, on a 32-yard strike down the middle of the field from McCord to tight end Cade Stover, immediately putting Ohio State in scoring territory.

McCord then hit Emeka Egubka and TreVeyon Henderson on back-to-back gains of six and seven yards, followed by a big defensive holding penalty on Michigan, that put the Buckeyes in prime position.

Just two plays later, McCord hit Egbuke for the three-yard score, bringing the Buckeyes within four at 14-10.

It was a great bounce-back drive for McCord, who threw a critical interception earlier in the game, that led to the initial score by the Wolverines.

For the game, McCord has completed 8 of 14 passes for 95 yards and the Egbuka touchdown. McCord has spread the ball around evenly thus far as well, hitting five different receivers for his eight completions.
