The No. 17 Miami Hurricanes watched a no-doubt victory turn into an embarrassing 23-20 loss to Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Leading 20-17 with 35 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes attempted to run the clock out instead of kneeling even though Georgia Tech was without a timeout. The plan backfired when running back Donald Chaney Jr. fumbled on the next play, giving the Yellow Jackets life.

After the coaching and offensive meltdown, it was then Miami defense's turn to drop the ball. The unit allowed Georgia Tech to orchestrate a four-play, 74-yard scoring drive, capped off by a 44-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Haynes King to wideout Christian Leary with one second remaining, completing the remarkable upset.
Instead of staying undefeated and improving to 5-0 on the season, the Hurricanes must now try to recover in time for a big road contest at No. 14 North Carolina next week following arguably one of the worst losses in college football history.
