Tensions were high before Saturday's much-anticipated matchup between Colorado and Colorado State. However, things nearly got out of control after an altercation between the two sides broke out at midfield roughly an hour before kickoff.

The scuffle involved over a dozen members of both teams, including Colorado standouts, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver Travis Hunter.
It's unclear what started the beef, but several accounts say a Colorado State player swatted a pass intended for Hunter. Whatever the case, Hunter seemed delighted over what unfolded.
Soon after the mix-up, Hunter said that Colorado State had "messed up" before adding that despite all their barking, they lacked the bite to back it up.
"They done messed with the wrong team. All talk, no bite." ️

Things have been spicy between the two sides throughout the week. After Colorado State head coach Jay Norvell threw a shot at Colorado head man Deion Sanders for failing to remove his hat and sunglasses when talking to people, the latter responded by gifting his team custom sunglasses.
Only a year removed from a 1-11 finish, Colorado has become one of the hottest topics in sports. Sanders has built new life into the program, and Saturday's confrontation is only the latest instance of his impact.
Without Sanders, Colorado wouldn't be in the position they are to succeed and practically no one would care about Saturday's matchup, let alone a pregame tussle.
