Ward has been linked to some teams that most would view as closer to championship contention than Miami. Chief among them is Ohio State, which is in the market for a transfer quarterback. USC, Florida State, and Washington are among the other teams that have been linked to Ward.
Ward is coming off of an excellent season with Washington State, which finished 5-7 and is not bowl-eligible. Ward passed for 3,732 yards, 25 touchdowns, eight rushing TDs and seven interceptions this season.
Ward began his college career at the University of the Incarnate Word in Texas but spent the last two seasons playing for the Cougars.
