Top 10 Plays from the 2023 WVU Football Season
USA TODAY Sports

The 2023 West Virginia football season was filled with a lot of exciting plays, games, and moments. Today, we look at the top 10 plays from that nine-win season.

10. Beanie Bishop's funky interception at UCF

This call by Eric Collins could have its own place on this list if we're being honest. There was much debate about what word he actually said and it's one of those audio clips where you can hear both if you think about it. Crazy play, good awareness by Beanie.

9. Preston Fox's 12-yard TD catch versus BYU

Fox is a tough customer and proved it on this unbelievable grab in the end zone. Good job of getting the feet down and holding onto the ball while taking a shot from behind.

8. Jahiem White 75-yard TD catch & run in win over Cincinnati

It was a play early in the game, but it's a beauty. Watching a guy as fast as Jahiem White run away from everybody never gets old.

7. Garrett Greene's 75-yard pass to Traylon Ray on first play of bowl game

Talk about starting the bowl game with a bang. No one saw this coming and it set the tone for the night.

6. Hudson Clement's go-ahead TD late at Houston

Yes, this play didn't lead to a win but it should have. We won't talk about what happened after this, but that doesn't take away how impressive this play and really how that entire drive was by Garrett Greene to lead the Mountaineers down the field and take the lead late.

5. Beanie Bishop punt return TD in Mayo Bowl

Bishop hadn't returned a single punt all year and when he got his chance, he made the most of. Whew!

4. Tyrin Bradley's one-handed interception vs. UNC

As far degree of difficulty, this ranks at the top. It killed Carolina's momentum coming out of the half and they were never able to recover. But there were a few bigger moments than this one.

3. Greene hits White for game-winning TD against Baylor

This was a layup for Garrett Greene but kudos to him for recognizing White popping free on the wheel and putting the ball right on the money for the win.

2. Frazier carries Clement for 1st down vs. Baylor

Although this wasn't the game-winning play in the Baylor game, you could argue that WVU has no shot to win if Frazier doesn't one - carry Clement to the sticks and two - hobble off the field to avoid a ten second runoff. Just a big-time heads up play that saved the Mountaineers an incredible amount of time.

1. Two blocked field goals to top TCU

Blocking one field goal is impressive, but two? Extremely rare.
