Ohio State is heading into the 2024 season with high hopes after losing the two last games of last year when they fell to Michigan and Missouri, leaving many Buckeye fans very upset.
The Buckeyes went crazy this offseason by keeping key players who could’ve entered the NFL Draft and also bringing in some great transfer players. One position that saw top players come back was the cornerback spot.
One of the corners who decided to come back after flirting with the NFL was Denzel Burke. Three years ago, Burke started as a true freshman, which is something a Buckeye cornerback has hardly ever done. Burke was on his way to being part of the great corners in Ohio State history, but after three years in the program, he hasn’t turned into the entire player many thought he would.
Burke probably would’ve been a second-round pick if he had entered the NFL this season but decided to come back to school, and there could be a chance another great corner would join him in Columbus this season.
On Tuesday, Texa’s star cornerback, Terrance Brooks, entered the transfer portal. At one point in 2021, he was committed to the Buckeyes and then de-committed a few months later before heading to Texas. Brooks had three interceptions last season and played a major role in why Texas made it to the College Football Playoff.
Who knows if Brooks will consider Ohio State again like he did in 2021, but you can never count out the Buckeyes and the offseason they are having; anything is possible.
