For the second straight week, an Ole Miss Rebel has been named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week. First, Jordan Watkins, now Caden Davis.

Davis played a pivotal role in the Rebels' 37-20 win over Tulane this past Saturday. Davis undeniably sealed the deal with a 56-yard field goal, extending the lead to 10 with just 1:53 left in the game. The field goal registers as the fourth-longest in school history and the best by a Rebel since 1988. This also marks the longest field goal of Davis' career by 16 yards.

This kick was just part of Ole Miss' comeback effort from a 17-7 deficit in the first half against the nationally-ranked Green Wave on Saturday.

Davis has been stellar to start the season. He is a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals and 4-for-4 on PATs. Clearly, Lane Kiffin has trust in Davis to put him in the driver's seat from 56 yards with under two minutes remaining on the clock.

The 56-yarder puts Davis tied for second in the FBS for the longest field goal of the 2023 season, just one yard short of Texas Christian kicker Griffin Kell.

Ole Miss will look to build off a strong second half as it heads into its second home game of the season vs. Georgia Tech in Week 3. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
