QB Jayden Maiava Flips From Georgia, Commits To USC Trojans
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Well, it’s been a wild 48 or so hours for the USC Trojans , the Georgia Bulldogs, and former UNLV QB Jayden Maiava.

After visiting USC this past weekend, there was a strong indication that Maiava would join the Trojans. But shortly after, it was announced that he would commit to Georgia.

It appeared that it was done at that point, but now, in a huge turn of events, it seems that Jayden Maiava has flipped his commitment and will join the Trojans.

Mountain West Freshman Of The Year Jayden Maiava Joins USC Trojans

Maiava was the Mountain West Freshman of the Year throwing for 3,085 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions this past season.

This is a huge get for Lincoln Riley and the USC program. At this point, I still expect Miller Moss to win the starting job, but Maiava brings a ton of talent and upside to the QB room and options in the future if Moss takes his talents to the NFL after next season.

With the amount of transfer portal QBs choosing schools over USC, there began to be chatter that perhaps Caleb Williams was going to return for his senior season, thus transfer QBs not wanting to have to lose a year as eligibility as a 3rd stringer. Those rumors never had any legs, but the Maiava commitment further indicates that Williams should officially declare before the January 15th deadline.

With how wild his recruitment has been, you never what can happen until he is officially on campus and enrolled in classes, but for now, Jayden Maiava is a USC Trojan.
