Penn State Great Team Captain Has Announced His Exit To The Transfer Portal
Matthew OHaren-USA TODAY Sports

Penn State is entering a significant 2024 season. The Big Ten is expanding, adding Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Washington, making the conference even more complicated.

Penn State Saw KeAndre Lambert-Smith Leave This Week

The Nittany Lions suffered a significant blow when one of their key wide receivers, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, decided to enter the spring portal earlier this week. This departure has left a noticeable void in the wide receiver room.

The spring portal is officially open, and many players will hit the portal once again after seeing themselves on the roster during spring practices. Thus, many more players from Penn State and other schools will enter the portal, and the Nittany Lions saw another one of their players enter the portal on Tuesday.

One Of Penn State’s Team Captains Is Leaving

According to Audrey Snyder from The Athletic, Wide Receiver Malick Meiga has entered the transfer portal. Meiga was a special team captain last season.

In four years with the school, Meiga only recorded nine receptions for 106 yards and a score, so the Nittany Lions won’t lose production and the receiver spot. Still, he played a significant role on special teams, one of the game’s most essential parts.

The Nittany Lions Need To Add In The Spring Portal

It sucks to see players enter the portal from your team, but at the same time, there is always a chance to add players to the team from other schools, so maybe Penn State can add some players in this spring portal that can help them compete in 2024.
