Oklahoma State vs. Texas A&M: Three Key Players
© SARAH PHIPPS/THE OKLAHOMAN / USA TODAY NETWORK

Oklahoma State is looking to end the year with a bang on Wednesday.

The Cowboys are looking for their 10th win of the season when they take on the Texas A&M Aggies at 8 p.m. at NRG Stadium in Houston, TX.

With the uncertainty at what Texas A&M will bring on Wednesday, it will take an all-out effort from OSU. But, if these three players come to play, the Cowboys will have a great chance to secure the Texas Bowl victory.

Ollie Gordon

This is a no-brainer. After Gordon’s announcement on Christmas Eve that he was returning to Oklahoma State for the 2024 season, the star running back needs to show up on Wednesday.

Gordon comes into this game leading the country in rushing yards, including eight games with over 100 rushing yards this season.

The Aggies come in No. 17 in the country in rushing defense and No. 9 in the country in total defense, so they are no slouch. The Cowboys will have to establish a running attack, especially Gordon, to give them the best chance to win.

Cameron Epps

Texas A&M’s offense has been inconsistent at times this season, but it does prioritize throwing the ball. That could create some opportunities for Epps.

The freshman has been a ball hawk this season, racking up three interceptions, including two interceptions against Kansas State earlier this season.

The Aggies come in tied for 20th in the country with 13 turnovers, including nine interceptions this season. Epps and all of the Cowboy secondary have a good chance to create some turnovers on Wednesday.

Nick Martin

With the uncertainty at quarterback and wide receivers for the Aggies, they might rely more on the ground game in this contest. This is where Martin comes into play.

Martin has been stellar this season, collecting 133 tackles, which is good for 10 tackles per game. He has also secured 16 tackles for loss this season.

The linebacker has been the main contributor for the Cowboys all season long, and he will look to do the same on Wednesday.
