This weekend, No. 3 Michigan football (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) looks to trounce the No. 2 Buckeyes (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) for the third year in a row, though it will be no small task, especially for the Wolverines’ elite defense. If stopping a high-powered offense was not enough, it sounds like a key Ohio State star — wide receiver Emeka Egbuka — is as close to 100% as he can get following his injury earlier this year, and should be ready to go against Michigan in Ann Arbor this weekend.

Michigan football will have to stop Ohio State star who is nearly 100% healthy

Ohio State has its vulnerabilities, though, as we saw last weekend against Maryland, Michigan football does as well. Still, the Wolverines and Buckeyes will settle everything on the field this weekend with a trip to the Big Ten title game and likely a spot in the CFP on the line.

One major factor in “The Game” will be how Jesse Minter and the Michigan football defense perform against an elite Buckeye receiving corps — especially Ohio State star wideouts Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr.

Egbuka, who was out for around a month earlier this season due to injury, is getting close to 100% healthy again leading up to “The Game,” which may be an issue for the Wolverines.

“I saw it a little bit this week, and then it was great to see him in the game playing like that,” OSU Head Coach Ryan Day said after Emeka Egbuka had a standout game against Minnesota last weekend, per On3. “You can see him — we tried to get him involved with a couple of runs and a couple of things on the perimeter just to see that. And he’s getting as close to 100% as he could possibly be.”

Buckeye QB getting top target back just in time for crucial Week 13 matchup in “The Game”

Kyle McCord is not like the Ohio State star quarterbacks who came before him, but so far, he has done enough to get the Buckeyes to 11-0 heading into this weekend’s game against Michigan football. In fact, McCord doesn’t need to be anything special for the Buckeyes to thrive, especially with receivers like Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr. Here is what he said about getting one of his favorite targets back and close to 100% last weekend.

“I thought this was the best (Emeka Egbuka) has looked since coming back from his injury,” Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord added. “I thought he looked explosive (against Minnesota). He looked confident, too, with the way he was moving. And you know, it was good to see.”
