Ohio State Football and Brian Hartline about to land yet another five star wide receiver in recruiting
Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK

Ohio State has been on one of the most ridiculous recruiting hot streaks of all time at any position when it comes to bringing in elite wide receivers. And not only that, but developing them into first round picks! Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jameson Williams (technically counts), Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., and the list goes on. As of this week, Brian Hartline is back at it again!

Newly minted five-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett from Sachse, Texas just visited Ohio State and according to On3 Sports was raving about it, firmly planting the Buckeyes in the mix for his services. Ohio State offered him officially in December, but this was reportedly his first visit with the team.

Lockett did just visit Florida State's Junior Day earlier this month and has scheduled visits this summer with Texas and USC, but given coach Brian Hartline's track record there's a great chance Ohio State pulls this one off.

Kaliq Lockett's offer list exploded late last fall after he began dominating top Texas 6A competition for more than 22 yards per reception. His track speed, incredible wingspan (reported to be 6'7"), burst, and agility make him one of the most ridiculous receiving weapons in the 2025 recruiting class.

He's already been reportedly been dominating the camp circuit this spring at Under Armour Houston and Florida State's Junior Day and looks to be a lock for five star status next spring.

Lockett's recruitment will be one of the most heavily contested and intriguing battles to follow over the next several months. If Ohio State does bring him in though he'll become the 14th Top 60 recruit at the wide receiver position to sign with the Buckeyes since Brian Hartline joined the team back in 2017.
