New 2024 commit explains the Coach Prime effect at Colorado: 'I trust my career with him'

Amontrae Bradford won't be coming to Colorado as the highest-ranked recruit in head coach Deion Sanders' first official class. He's also not even close to being Coach Prime's biggest recruiting haul. 

That honor went to cornerback/wideout Travis Hunter, who Deion landed at Jackson State before Hunter followed Coach Prime to Colorado this past offseason.

Still, Bradford plans on leaving his mark in Boulder. A three-star EDGE from Statesboro, Ga., Bradford committed to Colorado on Monday with the hopes of being the first defensive end Sanders will send to the NFL.

And he doesn't want to be a late-round pick, either.

“I plan on being the first edge they put in the first round in a while,” Bradford told 247Sports. “The first edge Deion puts in the league. First edge they put in the league as a whole, that’s what I see myself doing.”

At 6-foot-4, 230 pounds as a senior in high school, Bradford certainly has the frame to do big things at Colorado and into the future. He'll certainly have to develop, but he has all the confidence in the world that Coach Prime and his staff will get him where he wants to go.

And that's the magic of Coach Prime, who has arguably become the best recruiter in college football in just a short period of time. He talks the talk but has walked the walk, and recruits respect that.

“I just feel like there is no other person in the world that can bring these recruits together from all over the country but Deion. I trust my career with him," Bradford said.

Bradford is the No. 42 EDGE in his class, according to the 247Sports Composite. For what it's worth, On3 ranks Bradford as a 4-star.
