Oklahoma is looking to make its last season in the Big 12 a special one. It might be hard to believe but this game at Kansas might be the stiffest remaining test of the regular season. Kansas has an exciting quarterback, is very well-coached, and is playing at home. Those are all great factors in looking closely at an underdog to cover (or upset).

Odds: Oklahoma -9.5, Over/under 65.5, Oklahoma -375 | Kansas +290
Oklahoma got a bit of a scare last week against UCF. That might have cost us at least a -10/+10 or more you have to think. Kansas has not won in this series in quite a while but they have covered in the last two games and five of six. The injury status of quarterback Jalon Daniels is the key. Until you know one way or the other it is hard to make a play, though the line is telling me the sportsbooks think he will suit up.
Pick for Oklahoma vs. Kansas
Oklahoma -9.5
I love the recent development of the Kansas program under the guidance of head coach Lance Leipold, but as this is being written on Tuesday there is just too much uncertainty about Daniels, the Jayhawks quarterback. I also think it was a help to the Sooners that Oklahoma almost saw its perfect season disrupted last week by UCF. Looking to this week I think we are going to see a much crisper performance by the Sooners, who quite frankly have advantages all over the field. They probably do not have one on the sidelines (that is how much I like Leipold) but that is not going to be enough if they bring at least a B+ game. Look for the Sooners, especially their offense led by Dillon Gabriel, to exert some early dominance, but this time not take their foot off the gas. I like a final score in the neighborhood of 41-21.
Right now, we are really close to the key number of -10. I think we will get there eventually, especially if the news on Daniels is not encouraging for the Jayhawks. If you are with me on OU, there is no reason to wait.
